Sideline Collective
Nothing in the News

November–December 2017

Reflecting on the data overload of everyday life, the London-based design group Sideline Collective reimagines a series of mainstream international newspapers stripped of all content. Visitors to Crossett Library encountered Nothing in the News editions on tables and shelves, mixed with ordinary newspapers and periodicals. Organized by Usdan Gallery director Anne Thompson in collaboration with Oceana Wilson, dean of Crossett Library, the Sideline Collective display coincided with the campus-wide exhibit of Alexandra Bell’s Counternarratives series of New York Times articles edited to reveal race and gender bias.
